Established in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain name extension is the only one intended for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are popular by. At the beginning, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already grabbed 3rd-level names remained online.

You will be able to correct the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already purchased domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the present domain service provider and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been done. There are no specific stipulations on who can buy a .NAME domain, but in order to keep the objective behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
